To those in Need

Paul Thorpe, the late director of the Asheville Music School from 2002-2011, died suddenly on December 3, 2011.

As we continue to grieve the loss of Paul’s presence, we also seek ways in which to honor him and build on the work he was doing in our music community. In honor of Paul Thorpe a music education fund has recently been set up by his loved ones: Paul Thorpe Music Education Fund.

This fund will offer music lesson scholarships and instruments to students who would not otherwise be able to afford them. This fund will also provide music outreach programs to the elderly and other underserved members of our community who are most in need of a child’s smile or a song.
