Voice Lessons
Asheville Music School welcomes voice students of all ages and levels. Lessons are tailored to the unique needs, abilities and interests of each student, while focusing on healthy technique. The members of the voice faculty bring a variety of specialties, passions, knowledge and approaches to our teaching, which enables us to match a student’s needs with the right teacher.
Our teachers strive to build healthy foundations of breath support, responsible repertoire choices, tension-free singing and body awareness. Typical voice lessons involve a balance of technique and application of that technique to repertoire. We recommend that students study music theory as part of their lessons, so that they develop as a whole musician with a broad understanding of the music itself and how to communicate with other musicians.
Locally, AMS students perform on stage in musical theater, opera, symphony and choral productions with organizations across WNC.
