Tuition & Policies
Each teacher sets their own rate and currently that rate ranges from $90-$115 per month, with most teachers charging $100 a month. That is for a 30 minute private lesson each week of the month. You can find each teacher’s tuition rate on their own info page. We charge a $50 annual membership fee, payable to Asheville Music School.
WHEN IS TUITION DUE?
Tuition payment is due on the last week, or last lesson, of every month. At that time your payment is due for the following month (in advance). For example, during the last lesson in January, you pay for the month of February.
TO WHOM DO I MAKE MY PAYMENT?
Make tuition payment directly to your instructor. If writing a check, make it payable to the instructor.
WHAT IF I CAN’T PAY FOR THE FOLLOWING MONTH WHEN IT IS DUE?
Payment of tuition reserves your instructor’s time and studio space for you for that month. Your instructor is not obligated to keep that time for you if you have not paid for it.
WHAT IF I MISS A LESSON?
It is requested, as a courtesy to your instructor, that you call ahead if you are not going to attend. However, lessons are paid for in advance, and your instructor is not obligated to refund or reschedule if you miss.
WHAT ABOUT WHEN THERE ARE 5 WEEKS IN THE MONTH?
Each instructor sets their own policy about this. Please ask your instructor.
WHAT IF PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED FOR HOLIDAYS OR SNOW?
Your music instructor will probably still be expecting you! We do not follow the public school calendar regarding closings.
